The ML and MN Triton (2006-2015) run Mitsubishi’s 2.5-litre 4D56 common-rail diesel — an older but capable platform we tune conservatively and service around its well-known weak points.

We tune every ML/MN Triton in-house on the factory ECU, on our own dyno, matched to your exact truck rather than a generic off-the-shelf file.

The 4D56 is known for suction control valve (SCV) faults, a timing belt that must be replaced on schedule, and EGR and intake carbon build-up. We tune and service with those traits front of mind, never against them.

What is a Mitsubishi Triton ML or MN?

ML and MN are the model codes for the third-generation Triton, sold in Australia from 2006 to 2015 with the 2.5L 4D56 common-rail diesel (MN is a mid-life update of the ML). It was replaced by the current MQ/MR Triton in 2015.

ML/MN or MQ/MR Triton — which one do I have?

If your Triton was built 2006-2015 with the 2.5L 4D56 engine, it’s an ML or MN. If it’s a 2015-onward model with the 2.4L 4N15, it’s an MQ or MR. Tell us your build year and we’ll confirm which generation and engine you have.

What are common problems with the Triton’s 4D56 engine?
