Patrol Y62 Dual Battery Fitted at Warana

Patrol Y62. The kit is a 100Ah Ultra Slim lithium battery with two Z brackets that bolt it to the floor of the wet area at the back of the wagon. The jack and tool holder are kept. It suits the V8 Y62. There is no wiring kit included, and Custom Lithium recommends a qualified auto electrician does the install. See the Patrol Y62 kit.

Navara NP300. Custom Lithium lists this kit as suiting all NP300 models, and it is currently being redesigned, so it is out of stock. The last version was an all-in-one battery with no separate tray, in 100Ah or 200Ah, with a Victron battery monitor (BMV712 or SmartShunt) fitted next to the terminals before dispatch. The 100Ah had a 180A continuous BMS with 100A maximum charge, and the 200Ah a 330A BMS with 200A maximum charge. If you have an NP300, call us and we will tell you where the new kit is up to. Our auto electrician at Warana fits the Patrol kit start to finish:

• Wet-area trim lifted and the battery bolted to the floor on the two Z brackets, clear of the jack and tool holder
• Cable run from the starter battery under the bonnet to the DC-DC charger at the back, sized for the length of a Y62
• Fuses at each battery end, the charger mounted, and a monitor or shunt connected if you have one
• Trim refitted, then the charge rate and voltage checked at the second battery with the engine running

A DC-DC charger is not part of the kit unless you add one. The Y62 is a long vehicle, so the cable from the front to the back is a long run, and cable size matters to stop the voltage dropping on the way.
