Ranger & Everest Dual Battery, Sunshine Coast

Ranger and Everest Dual Battery Fitted at Warana

We supply Custom Lithium dual battery kits for the Ford Ranger and the Next Gen Everest and fit them at our Warana workshop. The two kits go in different places: behind the rear seat in the Ranger, and in the rear wet area of the Everest.

The Kits

Two Fords, two different installs

Ranger. The kit suits the Ranger dual cab from 2015 to 2026, which takes in the PX2, PX3 and Next Gen RA, plus the Raptor. Custom Lithium has confirmed the Super Duty dual cab as an easy fit. The battery is an all-in-one unit shaped for the space behind the rear seat, so there is no separate tray, and it is a no-drill fit on the Next Gen Ranger and Raptor. You can choose 100Ah or 200Ah. Custom Lithium quotes a 3,500-cycle life when it is cycled to an average of 70 to 80% state of charge, with proper maintenance. The Wildtrak X with the premium sound package may not suit, so check with us first. See the Ranger kit.

For 2022-on Rangers there is a DC-DC mounting bracket ($99.00) that suits the Redarc BCDC Core 25 and Core 40 and the BCDC25D, BCDC40D and BCDC50D.

Everest. The Next Gen Everest kit (2022 on) puts a 100Ah lithium battery in the rear wet area and keeps the jack and tool holder in place. It suits all Next Gen models, including those with the premium audio pack. Some plastics have to be trimmed. The battery has an SB120 Anderson connection and is rated for 180A continuous discharge, 750A peak, and up to 100A charge. Custom Lithium recommends the Everest DC-DC mount ($99.00), which sits behind the subwoofer. The Redarc Alpha range does not suit that bracket. See the Everest kit.

Neither kit includes a wiring kit.

The Fitting

What fitting at Warana includes

Our auto electrical team at Warana fits both:

  • Ranger: seat out and the battery secured behind it. Everest: wet-area trims out, plastics trimmed and the battery mounted
  • DC-DC charger mounted, on the Ford bracket if you have bought one
  • Cable run from the starter battery to the charger, sized for the run, with fuses at each battery end
  • Monitor or shunt connected if you have one, trims refitted
  • Charge rate and voltage checked at the second battery with the engine running

The kits do not include a DC-DC charger. We can supply one to suit the bracket or fit yours.

FAQ

Ranger and Everest dual battery FAQs

Does the Ranger kit fit the Raptor?
Yes. Custom Lithium lists it as a no-drill fit for the Next Gen Ranger and the Raptor, and the Super Duty dual cab is confirmed too. The Wildtrak X with the premium sound package may not suit, so ask us first.
Which DC-DC charger should I use?
The Ranger bracket suits the Redarc BCDC Core 25, Core 40, BCDC25D, BCDC40D and BCDC50D. The Everest bracket does not suit the Redarc Alpha range. Tell us what you have or want and we will confirm it fits before we book you in.
Can the Ranger battery go under the bonnet?
Not with this kit. It is designed for behind the rear seat. If you want a battery in the canopy or tray instead, call us to talk it through.
