Spiteful or just negligent? Do not engage. I sent my vehicle to these guys for an engine swap, was quoted 3 weeks. 19 weeks of chasing them about it with no attempt made by Willy’s to communicate delays and I finally cracked and said give me my vehicle back. Now they won’t return my deposit and the state they returned my vehicle in is laughable. At every turn they have been dishonest and lazy. Never have I ever had a worse experience with a mechanic. Court proceedings to follow but do yourself a favour and go elsewhere.

Would avoid them like the plague for a guy on facebook to not to have his car for 6 months and come up with every excuse under the sun to not give it back read the bad reviews and read it on Facebook they are all there

Avoid Willy’s workshop.‼️
I am currently pursuing legal action in relation to this matter due to ongoing concerns around delays, losses, and how the job has been handled. I would advise avoiding this company to your own benefit.
What was presented as a straightforward engine conversion with an estimated 3-week turnaround has turned into a 5+ month ongoing issue involving delays, poor communication, misleading updates, and serious concerns around transparency, workmanship, and overall conduct.
I paid $22,500 upfront in good faith after being told work would begin once the donor vehicle arrived on 22/10/2025. From that point forward, communication became extremely inconsistent. Emails, calls, and messages would often go unanswered for extended periods, and I had to constantly follow up just to receive basic updates. Despite multiple requests, I was never provided with a clear or reliable timeline.
This situation has had a significant impact on my family. We were left without a vehicle for an extended period, which was difficult given we have a 15-month-old daughter and my partner is currently pregnant now with all this stress. A temporary vehicle was only provided after I escalated the situation due to the delays already exceeding the agreed timeframe, and there have been ongoing concerns surrounding that arrangement.
The original timeline was not met, and the job has extended well beyond what was discussed. I was repeatedly advised that progress was being made, including wiring and major components, however when attending the workshop, the vehicle often appeared unchanged for extended periods. I was also advised the donor vehicle had changed, however when I attended, the same donor vehicle was still present and being used.
I have concerns about how the vehicle has been handled. Components have been left loose and exposed, and there were instances where parts and dirty items were placed inside the vehicle interior. The vehicle has also been left outside in the weather without adequate protection, which does not reflect the level of care expected.
There were also issues regarding invoicing and payment handling. I was initially sent an invoice for the full amount instead of a deposit, and after paying $22,500 in cash, documentation and clarity around payments were limited. The invoice contains a questionable MTA reference, and payments do not appear clearly reflected. I was also advised my original engine and gearbox would be sold and credited, however there has been no documentation or confirmation of this.
The process has felt disorganised, with poor communication between locations and staff often unable to provide clear answers or updates. My vehicle was also used without my consent, resulting in toll charges.
More recently, the situation escalated further. I attended the workshop on 27/03/2026 with a witness to organise a timeline and handover due to ongoing delays and lack of transparency. At that time, there were still concerns regarding lack of progress despite prior commitments that work would be completed by 30/03/2026. During this visit there was a physical interaction while attempting to request updates and documentation, which has been recorded on both CCTV and my own device and is now being addressed through the appropriate channels.
Due to the ongoing issues, I have sought legal advice and am currently pursuing a resolution through formal processes. I have also raised concerns with relevant authorities including Queensland Police, EPA, Transport, Fair Work, and MTA regarding aspects of this experience.
This situation has caused significant stress, financial impact, and disruption to my family. Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend others proceed with caution, particularly for complex or long-term work, and ensure everything is clearly documented.

These guys are great. Called them up about my subaru diesel with an issue and they explained it and had it turned around and all sorted in a matter of days. Highly recommend.

I put my Ute in to get the cams sensors done found out the cams were worn that was fair enough so I said do the cams and timing chain this was Nov 2025 was told the block was ok has it had good compression then I was told it needed a full rebuild in Dec 2025 I was never given a quote for the work then last week early march 2026 I was told it’s going to cost over $17000 to fix it and they still have not started the rebuild I rang many times about the car they say they will find out about it then they will call back but I’ve only had one call back ever

They admitted they accidentally shorted out my Mercedes ECU when they were trying to work out the fault with the vehicle. They fitted another secondhand one for free, which I thought they should. But then charged me $1100 to tune the ECU to match my car. That I believe is wrong & I shouldn't have had to pay for. But I was made to pay. Couldn't take my vehicle without paying. Original problem wasn't resolved either. NEVER going back.

Mercedes Sprinter. Turbos replaced, ECU replaced, ECU tuned, battery replaced. 16 times returned to fix it from going into limp mode. $8,920 out of pocket. Took it elsewhere. Fixed with a $80 waste gate vacuum valve! Willys had no idea how to fix it. Made contact 3 times after with Willys...washed their hands of it. I refitted old turbos, as nothing wrong with them and sold new turbos to gain some costs & to prove Willys are a disgrace.

Beware Beware Beware!
Very disappointed with the work done on my car. It went in to fix a coolant leak and tune and was returned to me with a hole in the radiator and slashes to my steering wheel. After the radiator was repaired, fuel was spraying all over the engine bay. Now the original work is leaking coolant. My wife has been stranded on the Kawana Way twice with low coolant warnings less than 3 minutes after picking up the vehicle.
The tune is great!
Even though I was promised that the steering wheel would be repaired this hasn’t happened. In addition, I was told a radiator from Audi was $2900 however when I called Audi an OEM radiator from Audi was $900 retail, I was charged $1100 for an aftermarket one.
The most disappointing was the communication, with lie after lie being told. My wife was told to “sell the car and get a Camry if you’re worried about the cost.”
DO NOT TRUST these people and don’t allow them to work on your car.
I have given them ample opportunity to address these issues but there has been no willingness to rectify the problems. $6000 plus later I am paying Audi to fix the car.
You have been warned. Please don’t do this to yourself.

Anthony at Warana displayed excellent knowledge and explained the process well.
Invoiced as quoted even though the job took longer than expected due to rusted nuts.
I offered to pay more but he declined.

Sent it in for a tuning package on Monday, was told will see it Friday; recieved it Tuesday same week. Had a few things tweaked as well so hopefully I will not see some pestering problems resurface. Communication was clear and timely. Will come back again for a service.

Redone my timing chain and patiently pulled out all the rusted bolts and replaced them, also a major service.. very busy bunch of guys but they do aood job and are very reasonably priced.. I'm from Canberra, I hope I never have to go there again but I definitely will if anything happens.. thanks Willys
